A couple decades ago, cheaters had go to around using special codes, like letting your phone ring twice before going silent. These days, adulterers have technology on their side that’s making it a whole lot easier–to both get their something on the side and to keep it a secret. Here are the most popular dating sites and apps online right now:
1. Vaulty Stocks:
Trashy but weirdly genius, Vaulty Stocks has the appearing of a boring stocks app upon first glance. It’s utterly sneaky and used for much steamier purposes than the Wall Street Journal. The design is, of course, meant to throw off partners so they don’t suspect infidelity. It’s foolproof–unless the partner being cheated on suddenly questions their cheating spouse’s sudden interest in the stock market.
2. Ashley Madison:
You’ve probably heard of this one because of the hackers from last year that released Ashley Madison user identities to the world. Before this, Ashely Madison billed itself as being the “most successful website for finding affairs and cheating partners.” Their slogan, “Life is short. Have an affair,” says it all. The found, Noel Biderman, claims not to encourage affairs, but with a platform that facilitates affairs is hardly trustworthy.
He also claims that he’s made it safer for people to cheat, as opposed to people cheating at work and potentially putting their jobs at risk. The media, however, accuses Biderman of compartmentalizing aspects of marriage and of being desensitized to infidelity having consequences.
